A photographer’s paradise, Simlipal comprises of both the National Park and the Tiger Reserve, located in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj District. Situated in the estuarial region of Bramhani-Baitarani, in Kendrapada District, the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 672 square kilometers of Mangrove Forests and Wetland. Giant Estuarine Crocodiles with a population of 1600+, endangered and mysterious King Cobras, numerous species of birds varieties of other animal species inhabit here. This wildlife reserve and Elephant Sanctuary is located in the south fringe of Cuttack, and has a fascinating variety of fauna and flora, both visually and aesthetically.
